2 sticks butter, softened
½ cup sugar
2 ¼ cups flour
¼ tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
Green and/or red decorative sugars
Pecan halves

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients together. Shape dough into half-dollar balls, flatten with a flat-bottomed glass dipped in sugar. Top with green and red sugar and pecan halves.

Bake at 375 F for 8-10 minutes.
Edges will be slightly brown.
