1 cup dried apricots
1 cup sugar
2 T shortening
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 T baking powder
1 tsp salt
34 cup orange juice
1/2 cup chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Cut apricots in quarters; soak 30 minutes. Drain.
Mix sugar, shortening and egg thoroughly.
Stir in orange juice.
Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt.
Combine mixtures, stirring well.
Add nuts and apricots.
Pour into greased bread tin.
Allow to stand for 20 minutes.
Bake at 350º for 55 to 60 minutes.
After cooling, cut into thin slices.
Serve or wrap cooled bread in foil and freeze for later, if desired.
