1 cup shortening
1 1/4 cups sugar
2 eggs beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 cup pecans, chopped
1/2 cup maraschino cherries ,chopped
1/2 cup coconut
1 package of chocolate bits

Directions:

Preheat oven to 375º
Grease a 11"x 16" baking pan

Cream shortening and sugar. Add well beaten egg and vanilla. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add to creamed mixture and combine well. Fold in nuts, cherries, coconut and chocolate pieces. Spread dough into prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
