½ cup butter
½ tsp salt
1 cup sugar
2½ cups all purposed flour, sifted
2 eggs, well beaten
2½ tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla ½ tsp nutmeg

Directions:
Directions:
Cream the butter. Add the sugar and blend well. Beat in the eggs and vanilla. Sift together the remaining ingredients. Gradually blend the dry ingredients into the butter-sugar mixture. Chill thoroughly. Place 1⁄3 of the dough at a time on a lightly floured surface and roll our 1⁄8 in thickness. Cut out the cookies and place them on a lightly greased cookie sheet. Sprinkle with sugar. Bake at 375° for 7 to 10 minutes or until slightly brown around the edges.
