1 cup syrup
2 1/2 Tbsp butter
2 egg yolks
3 Tbsp. sugar
2 cups flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 cup boiling water
1 tsp. soda
Directions:
Directions:
Cream together the syrup, butter, sugar and egg yolks. Beat well. Stir together the flour, cinnamon and cloves. Stir together the soda and boiling water. Add boiling water alternately with the dry ingredients. Beat until light. Bake at 350º in layer cake pans until done; cool.

6 Tbsp. water
1 cup ground raisins
2 egg whites, beaten

Cook sugar and water until it spins a thread. Add slowly to beaten egg whites. Add raisins. Beat until ready to spread.
