1 stick oleo
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
3/4 c. milk
1 can unsweetened cherries (can use fresh cherries or other fruit)

Directions:
Directions:
Melt oleo in 9x13 inch pan in oven. Mix in a bowl 1 cup sugar, flour, baking powder, salt and milk. Beat until smooth. Pour over oleo. Do not stir.

Pour cherries over batter and spread evenly. Sprinkle rest of sugar (1/2 cup) over top. Bake at 350º for 45 minutes, or until golden brown. (Fruit will go to the bottom and the crust will form on top.)
