1½ c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
¼ tsp. salt
½ tsp. ground cloves
1½ tsp. nutmeg
½ tsp. cinnamon
1¾ c. flour
½ c. oil (Wesson or Crisco liquid)
2 eggs
1 c. canned pumpkin (not the whole can) use "one-pie" not prepared pie mix
½ c. water
½ c. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Grease pans. Combine dry ingredients. Add oil, eggs, pumpkin, and water. Mix together. Stir in dates. Usually makes 4 small pans or 1 small pan and 1 large pan. Bake small pans for 45 minutes and large pan for 1 hour. Remove from oven when no liquid is on a tester.
