Ingredients:

2 1/4 cups sifted flour
1 1/2 cups sugar
2 tsp heaping baking powder
1/2 tsp Baking soda
1 tsp salt

Sift these first 5 ingredients together.

Then beat for 2 minutes:
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cups milk (warmed to room temperature)
Crate 1 whole orange (keep 1 Tbsp rind)

Then Beat these ingredients for 2 minutes:
1/4 cup orange juice
2 eggs (room temperature)

Icing: Butter, icing sugar, orange peel and a dash of milk

Directions:
Directions:
Sift the first 5 ingredients together. Then Beat the next 3 ingredients together for 2 minutes in a separate bowl. Then beat the next 2 ingredients together in another separate bowl for 2 minutes. Then blend everything together. Pour batter into a greased and floured 9x13 pan and bake at 350º for 40-45 minutes. Cool cake and keep in pan.

For the icing mix ingredients together and drizzle over the cake.
