Directions:
Preheat oven to 450.

Cut shortening into flour. Add baking powder and salt until mixture is fine crumbs

Stir in milk small amounts at a time so dough leaves side of bowl and rounds into a ball

Too much milk makes dough sticky. Not enough milk makes biscuits dry

Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface

Roll or pat down to a 1/2 thickness
Cut out biscuits using a milk can or biscuit cutter

Place on ungreased pan. For crusty sides keep 1 inch apart. For soft sides place biscuits touching

Bake for 10-12 minutes. Immediately remove from pan

Personal Notes:
Grandma was well known for her delicious yeast rolls however she could whip up a pan of biscuits in no time and the were so good with butter and jam.
