3 cups flour
1 cup milk
1 large egg, beaten
4 T. butter
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1 orange, juice and zest
1 cup apples, peeled, cored and finely chopped
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine ingredients and mix well. Drop 1 tablespoon at a time into 350ºF oil until brown and cooked in the middle. Drain. Serve warm with apple butter.
