5 cups flour, sift before measuring
2 cups shortening
1 T. salt
1 large egg, beaten, plus warm water to equal 1 cup
1 T. vinegar

Directions:
Directions:
Blend flour, shortening and salt with pastry cutter. Beat egg in measuring cup. Add enough warm water to make 1 cup. Add the vinegar to water mixture. Add water mixture to flour mixture and blend. Make into 8 pie shells and freeze or 8 even balls and freeze. Use as needed.

My Aunt Florence worked at a school cafeteria. This recipe was used by the school for their pies and she also used it at home.
