Directions:
Directions:
Prepare fruit the day before - measure and put in large bowl. Mix the spices in 1 cup of flour, and mix through the fruit. Let stand over night. Prepare the fruit cake pans by lining with 2 thicknesses of heavy brown paper, greased. Bake at 275-300º F. Bake large pan for 3 ½ hours. Medium pan for 2 ½ hours, and small pan for 2 hours. Place a small bowl with water, in the oven while baking the cake.

This is the way i got this recipe from Doris' cook book.

I cream the butter and sugar. Add the eggs, one at a time beating between each. Then add the liquid alternately with the 3 cups of flour, and remaining dry ingredients sifted together. When this is done, add your floured fruit, separated enough to avoid chunks. Fill your fruit cake pans about ¾ full. Bake as directed in a slow oven.
