2 cups white sugar
2 cups butter

- cream well together and add:
4 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla

- beat again thoroughly and add:
5 cups flour
2 tsp. soda
4 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. salt
nutmeg to taste

- Mix well and roll out on a well-floured board. Cut in any desired shape and bake in a 375º oven for 10 minutes or until done.
