½ cup Crisco
2 whole eggs
2 cups flour sifted with 1 tsp soda
2 mashed ripe bananas
1 cup sugar

Put everything together all at once and stir until blended. Bake in greased loaf pan at 300º for 1 hour.

My mother, who would be your great-grandmother, used to bake this before we would get home from school. We could smell the sweet aroma before we even opened the door.
