"I have long believed that good food, good eating is all about risk. Whether we're talking about unpasteurized Stilton, raw oysters or working for organized crime 'associates,' food, for me, has always been an adventure."--Anthony Bourdain
This recipe for Grandma's Peach Pie, by Mary DeJong, is from Brumbaugh Family Cookbook ,
one of the cookbooks created at FamilyCookbookProject.com. We help
families or individuals create heirloom cookbook treasures.
1 single pie crust, unbaked 3 c. fresh peaches, sliced 1/4 c. flour 1 c. sugar Nutmeg to taste 1 c. cream
Mix the peaches, flour, sugar and nutmeg and put in the pie crust. Pour the cream over the peaches and gently move them around a bit to let the cream saturate the entire mixture. Bake at 400 degrees for 35 minutes.
I'm not sure if this was Grandma DeJong's or Grandma Brumbaugh's recipe; but it's the best.
