1 1/2 C sugar
1 T light Karo syrup
1 pinch of salt
1 1/2 t baking soda
1/2 C buttermilk
You will need a candy thermometer

1 1/2 C pecans
2 T butter
1/2 t baking soda

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients in the first bracket (1st 5) & cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until mixture is light brown and soft-boil stage. Remove from heat, add pecans, butter & baking soda. Mix until creamy, but not too thick. Quickly drop by spoonful on wax paper. Cool & store in container.

One of our favorite holiday treats from Grandma. I have found in our humid climate, the temperature outside has to be just right in order for the candy to set. If it doesn't set, it makes a good ice cream topping.
