2 cups sifted flour 1 tsp. vanilla
½ tsp. baking soda 2 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. salt ½ cup chopped candied or
1 cup brown sugar maraschino cherries
¾ cup Crisco shortening ½ cup coconut
1 egg ½ cup chopped nuts

Directions:

Sift together the flour, soda, and salt into a mixing bowl. Add sugar, shortening, egg, vanilla and milk in the dry mix. Stir to combine ingredients and beat for 2 minutes. Stir in nuts, cherries and coconut. Drop by spoonful's on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes depending on your oven temperature.
