4 C. Peaches- sliced
1½ C. Sugar (divided 3/4, 1/2, 1/4)
2 tbsp. Cornstarch
1 tbsp. Butter
1/2 C. Milk
1 C. Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 tbsp. Water

Directions:
Directions:
Mix 3/4 cup of sugar, cornstarch, and stir in peaches. Put in 2½ quart baking dish; set aside.

In a separate mixing bowl, cream butter, 1/2 cup sugar, and small amount of milk.

Combine flour, salt, and baking powder then add alternating with remaining milk. Spoon over peaches. Sprinkle remaining 1/4 cup sugar over batter and dampen with water.

Bake at 375º for 40-45 minutes or until golden brown.
