1 gallon glass jar or assorted jar
bread
1/3 cup table salt
1/2 tbsp. alum
2 cups white vinegar
cucumber pickles
1 1/2 quarts water
fresh dill
garlic
sunshine

Directions:
Directions:
Mix salt, alum, vinegar and water (do not use stainless steel). Bring to a boil, then cool. Wash cucumber pickles. To pack jars: Place 1 slice of bread on bottom, pack pickles, dill and garlic cloves in jar. Pour brine in, cover with slice of bread, cover loosely. Set in sun for 3 days. Refrigerate. Keep refrigerated. Cloudy days do not affect process!
