2 1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
3/4 cup shortening
1 egg
2 tbsp water
1 tsp almond flavor

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and sift flour, sugar, salt, and baking powder. Cut in shortening (I use fingers). Combine beaten egg, water, and almond flavor. Sprinkled on dry mix. Stir until comes away from bowl. Knead smooth. Chill 1 hour - no more. Form into balls the size of small walnuts. Flatten to 1/8". Place almond in center. Beat egg yolk with water. Brush cookies. Place on bake sheet -separate well. Bake 350ºF 20-25min. until pale. Remove from sheet within hour.
