1/4 cup shortening
1/4 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 tsp. vanilla
2 2/3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup sour cream

Directions:
Directions:
Mix shortening, butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla. Blend dry ingredients and add to creamed mixture alternating with sour cream.

Roll 1/4 in. thick on well floured surface. Cut with cookie cutters and place on greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with sugar.

Preheat oven to 425º F. (In my oven, I set it to 420º.F) Bake 6-8 minutes. Makes about 4 dozen 2 in. cookies. Round doughnut cutter size makes about 30.
