1 whole green pepper
1 jumbo yellow onion
1 lb mushrooms (Ed love portabella)
1 lb ground chuck
1 lb Italian sausage
2 eggs
1 large can Italian plum tomatoes
1 large can of whole tomatoes
1 large can tomato sauce
1 large can tomato paste (smaller than the other "large")
1/2 stick butter to saute green pepper, onion, and mushrooms)
1/2 virgin olive oil (for sauce and sauteeing)
2 t sugar
fresh whole cloves of garlic
1 T Italian seasoning (season to taste)
dash of pepper
2 oz of red wine (have a couple of oz extra to enjoy while cooking)

Directions:

Open cans of tomato products and put in large pot.
Add 2-3 oz of olive oil and seasonings.
Chop and slice green pepper, onion, and mushrooms
In large frying pan sauté the above in the butter and remaining olive oil
Add the vegetables to the tomato sauce.

In a large mixing bowl combine the Italian sausage, ground chuck and mixed egg. (Knead all together). Transfer to the frying pan with drippings. Brown the meat.

Add the meat to the sauce. Add sugar and small amount of wine. Stir. Simmer for an hour or two. (May definitely be made ahead).

Cook spaghetti. Serve. Enjoy. Mangia!

I think this is the first time this recipe a/k/a Granny Toomey's Spaghetti and Eddie's Spaghetti, has been written down. Hopefully, Ed didn't forget anything important in his dictation. We served it for Meg, Buddy, Meg Boyle, and Anne Peiffer's February birthday dinner (Meg and Buddy's 50th). A good time was had by all. See pics for evidence)
