Juice is extracted through cane mill which is powered by a John Deere tractor and is equipped with steel rollers. 50 tons of pressure is exerted on the tall, fibrous plant, stripping it of "fodder". The fodder is the spiky leaves on the plant. Makes 3 to 4 gallons of syrup from 40 gallons of juice.
