3/4 C sugar
1 stick unsalted butter...if you use salted eliminate salt
2 lg eggs
1/4 c milk
1 t. anise extract
2 1/4 c flour
2 1/2 t baking powder
1/4 t salt

GLAZE
Whisk 1 C confectioners' sugar, 4 to 5 t milk and 1 t anise extract in a small bowl till smooth.

Heat oven to 325...line baking sheets with parchment
Dough: beat first 5 ingredients in a large bowl with mixer until blended. On low speed, beat in next 3 ingredients until blended.

Drop rounded measuring teaspoons of dough 2 inches apart onto the baking sheets.

bake 8 - 10 minutes until bottoms are light golden. Remove cookies to a wire rack to cool.

Dip tops of cookies in glaze and while wet, sprinkle with nonpareils. Let set. Store in airtight at room temp up to two weeks or freeze up to a month
