1 c room temerature butter
1 c light brown sugar, packed
1 c granulated sugar
3 c packed flour, sifted
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp baking soda dissolved in T of water

3 tsp baking powder
2 large eggs
1 tsp salt
1-12 oz bag of cacao chocolate chips (usually Ghiaardelli)

Directions:
Preheat oven to 360. Cream together butter and both sugars. Add vanilla, salt, eggs, and baking soda and continually mix with electric mixer. Add first cup of flour, then baking powder, and then rest of flour.Taste for right consistency and flavor. If needed, add more flavoring, flour, or salt. If too salty, add more sugar and flour. Add chocolate chips last.

Chill or freeze dough (optional). Spoon large mounds on parchment paper lined cookie sheets. Bake 12-15 minutes. Remove from oven when edges have a hint of brown...Do not leave too long OR brown all over AS they will be TOO HARD. Best as soft cookie.
