Ingredients:
1 loaf white bread broken into pieces
2 1/2 c mashed potatoes
3 eggs, slightly beaten
2 1/2 cups sautéed celery and onion (about 2 stalks and 1 med onion)
3/4 stick of butter
Milk to soften
salt and pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Break up bread in large bowl or pan. Let air dry for about and hour or so, mixing occasionally to allow to dry out a bit .Sprinkle salt and pepper and toss lightly. Prepare mashed potatoes (I confess to using instant mashed at times) Sautee celery and onion in butter until soft. Add celery, onion, eggs and mashed potatoes to bread crumbs and mix. Use a bit of milk if needed to soften. Don't make too soggy or it won't be fluffy.

Bake at 350 º for about an hour.

Personal Notes:
No cookbook I make for my girls would be complete without a few favorites from Grammy Slifer. This is the recipe I used all their lives for every Thanksgiving meal. Once I tasted it when Bob and I were still dating I was hooked.
