Cake:
1 cup Wesson oil
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 cups flour
3 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
1 cup cooked prunes, chopped
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Icing:
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda
1 TBSP white Karo syrup
1/4 cup butter
1 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cake: Mix all ingredients and bake at 300º for 40 minutes. Makes 2 layers.

Icing: Cook for a few minutes. Put on cake and let it go through by piercing through cake with point of a knife.
