Tarales:
5 c flour
1 1/4 c powdered sugar
8 tsp baking powder
7 eggs
3/4 c Mazola oil
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Icing:
4 c powdered sugar
1/2 c melted butter
juice and zest of 1 lemon
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Mix dry and wet ingredients separately. Blend together to form a dough. Make small rings approx. 3 inches in diameter. Place onto greased cookie sheet . Bake at 375º for 15-20 minutes.

Mix all icing ingredients together with beater until smooth. Ice cooled cookies.

Sweet Tarales have always been one of my favorites. I always enjoyed baking them with Gram and Aunt Boops. Later in life I loved to make them with my girls. Always a favorite!
