2 cups of beef stock
1 pound of diced russet potatoes
1 pound of cabbage cut in wedges, remove core
1 medium onion chopped
2 sliced large carrots
1 can stewed or diced tomatoes
1 1/2 lb hamburger
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp pepper

Directions:
Brown hamburger in lg pot, add stock and bring to boil. Add remaining ingredients, bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until all the veggies are tender (about 45 min.)

Serve with cornbread or corn muffins

This was a favorite of Doug's and Chucks. Doug called many times to get the recipe! The cabbage becomes sweet and this is a hearty stew! We usually had this on cold winter nights. So warming and satisfying.
