1# Ground Beef
2 mild Italian sausage links
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
2/3 cup chopped onion
2-3 cloves minced garlic
1 29 oz can tomato sauce
1 8 oz can tomato sauce
2 6 oz cans tomato paste
2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp oregano, 2 tsp basil
salt and pepper to taste
Lasagna noodles
--Cheese Mixture--
1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
1/4 cup parmesan cheese
1 tsp parsley flakes
3/4 tsp salt, 1/2 tsp oregano
8 oz shredded Mozzarella cheese

Directions:

Brown the beef, sausage, onion, pepper & garlic, then add next 6 ingredients, salt & pepper to taste and add extra basil or oregano if desired.Put lid on saucepan & simmer for 1/2 hour. In large pan boil noodles for 13 - 15 minutes.
On bottom of casserole dish put a layer of sauce, top with noodles, layer of meat sauce, cottage cheese, mozzarella, repeat 2 to 3 times with the last layer being sauce and mozzarella sprinkled with a little water. Bake covered in a 400 degree oven. Uncover and cook about 5 minutes more to brown. Serve with salad and Italian Bread.
