2 cups sugar
1 cup boiling water
1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
flavoring and coloring

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, water and cream of tartar. Boil until it forms a soft ball. Do not jar pan and do not stir. Wie sides of pan to remove crystals. Try in cold water to see if hardened. Pour onto platter that was rinsed with cold water. Leave until cool enough to handle. Add vanilla or mint flavoring and coloring. When partly cool stir with wooden spoon until set. Roll into logs with nuts or thin rolls for mints.
