2 cups milk, scalded
1/3 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1/2 tsp. salt
1 yeast cake
1 tsp. sugar
1/4 cup warm water
6 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
Add yeast to warm water and let stand. Add shortening, salt and sugar to milk. When cool add beaten egg and yeast. Add 3 cups flour and beat well. Keep adding 1/2 cup flour till stiff enough to knead. Knead and let rise till light. Makes 3 loaves. Bake at 400º for 15 minutes and then turn down for 30 minutes.
