½ cup butter
½ cup granulated sugar
½ cup firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla
2/3 cup unsifted all-purpose flour
½ tsp baking soda
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
1 ½ cups quick-cooking rolled oats
1 package (6 oz.) Baker’s semi-sweet chocolate chips

Directions:

Cream butter until soft. Add sugars, egg and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy. Blend in flour, soda, salt and spices. Stir in oats and chips. Drop from teaspoon onto ungreased baking sheets placing cookies about 2 inches apart. Bake at 375 for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Makes about 4 dozen.
