Cookies:
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon cinnamon
˝ teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
1 stick butter
1 egg
1 cup pumpkin
1 teaspoon vanilla

Icing:
3 tablespoons butter
4 tablespoons milk
˝ cup brown sugar
1 cup confectioners’ sugar

Directions for cookies:
Cream the sugar, butter, and egg. Add pumpkin and vanilla. Stir in the dry ingredients above. Drop by teaspoonful on a greased cookie sheet. Bake 12-15 minutes at 350 degrees.

Directions for icing:
Mix butter, milk, and brown sugar and boil for 2 minutes. Add confectioners’ sugar and blend well. Ice cooled cookies and enjoy.

My Grandma Kirkham used to make these cookies when I was a little girl. She always had some kind of dessert or cookies for us every time we visited.
