1 (16 oz.) package brown sugar
¾ cup butter
3 large eggs
2 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ tsp. baking powder
½ tsp. salt
1 cup chopped pecans
2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions:
Directions:
Heat sugar and butter in a saucepan over medium heat until butter melts and mixture is smooth. Remove from heat. Cool slightly. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Add to sugar mixture, stirring well. Stir in vanilla and pecans. Pour into a gresed and floured 13 x 9 inch pan. Bake at 350º for 25-28 minutes. Cool in pan on a wire rack. Cut into bars.

You can substitute walnuts for pecans. I have also added a cup of butterscotch chips for variety. These are easily made without a mixer - just a spoon. They ship well.
