3 cups vinegar
9 cups water
3/4 cup pickling salt
Garlic cloves - optional

Directions:
Directions:
Boil vinegar, water and salt for 5 minutes
Let cool to lukewarm.

Wash cucumbers, smaller the better.
Sterilize your jars
Put fresh pieces of dill in bottom of jar ( one large sprig with seeds
Add garlic if desired
Pack in cucumbers as as many as you can
Add more dill to jar.
Pore cooled brine into jars to cover cucumbers
Seal
Date and wait 3 months for the best dill pickles you will ever have.

One of my best memories of you girls at Gram and Gramps is when we would go for dinner and mom would have a jar of dill pickles cut up on the table before dinner and you guys would inhale them. I would tell you to stop eating them before dinner and MOM would say it ok Christine leave them alone, I always have another jar open ready for dinner when your girls come.
