1/2 cup crisco
1 cup of sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla
2 1/2 cups of flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup of sour cream
large raisins

Directions:
Directions:
Mix crisco, sugar, egg, vanilla.
Add sifted dry ingredients and sour cream.
Chill dough 1 hour.
Divide dough. Roll out on floured board. Cut with a cookie cutter. I used a large glass top dipped in flour to cut cookies.
Top each cookie with a big seeded raisin and sprinkle with sugar before baking.
Bake on greased cookie sheet at 425º.

I received this recipe from June Frazier, Mike's mom. This was Mike's favorite breakfast cookie. June made them every Christmas for him along with fruit cake, and pickled bologna. It is a great sugar cookie and easy to make.
