2 c. sugar
6 heaping T cornstarch
2 heaping T cocoa
pinch salt
5 eggs, separated
2 1/2 c. milk
2 T butter
1 tsp. vanilla
2 unbaked 9" pie shells

Directions:
Directions:
Heat oven to 350º.
Mix dry ingredients. Beat egg yolks and add milk. Stir into dry ingredients. Add butter and vanilla and cook on medium, stirring constantly until desired thickness. Pour into 2 crusts.

Add 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar to egg whites and beat. Add sugar gradually after coarse foam is formed and beat until stiff. Put egg yolks on hot pie. Bake 12-15 minutes till lightly brown.
