1 kg hamburger (lean or extra lean)

1 tin peas, drained or 1 cup frozen peas

8 potatoes, thinly sliced

2 onions, thinly sliced

2 cups milk

1⁄4 cup butter

4 tbsp flour

1⁄4 Velveeta cheese or 8 slices of pre-wrapped cheese

Paprika, salt and pepper to taste

Fry up hamburg and drain off all fat. Place in casserole dish.
Place sliced potatoes into microwave and cook in 2 cups water for 10 minutes to soften. Drain water.
Add potatoes, onions and peas to hamburg mixture. Next, make a white sauce as follows: In a saucepan, melt butter. Add flour and stir constantly till it forms a ball. Add small amounts of milk, stirring constantly and continue until all milk is added and the sauce is smooth, with all flour integrated.
Next, add cheese and stir while it melts into the white sauce.
Add salt and pepper. When cheese is fully melted and sauce is hot, pour over hamburg mixture. Mix ingredients up gently.
Sprinkle paprika on top and bake in 350º Fahrenheit oven for 45-60 minutes, until top is browned slightly.
