1 1/2 - 2 lbs. of lean beef (cheaper cut)
1 cup chopped carrots
1 cup chopped celery
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped potatoes
* Add more vegetables if using 2 lbs. of meat
1 Tablespoon salt & pepper
1 container of beef broth

1. Cut Beef into pieces
2. Dredge beef in flour
3. Fry beef in hot oil turning over, for a few minutes, to brown a bit
4. Place beef in a large stewing pot with beef broth
5. Boil the meat until quite tender
*Bring the water to a boil over medium-high heat, then turn the heat down and cover the pot with its lid. Simmer the beef for three to five hours, or until tender.
6. Add veggies and spices, cooking at a low temperature until vegetables are at desired softness
7. Mix 2 Tablespoons of corn starch in 1/2 cup of broth or water. Pour it into the stew, mixing well to thicken. If not thick enough, add more of this mixture.
