1 c. shortening
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
2 c. flour
Nuts, optional
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. rolled oats
1 tsp. vanilla
Chocolate chips, optional

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening and sugar; add eggs and beat until light and fluffy. Add rest of ingredients. Drop by teaspoon onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Makes 4-5 dozen.
