"A man who was fond of wine was offered some grapes at dessert after dinner. "Much obliged," said he, pushing the plate aside; "I am not accustomed to take my wine in pills."--Jean Antheleme Brillat-Savarin, The Physiology of Taste

Personal Notes:
This recipe is classic Meg. She'd often give me ideas for my Damn Dinner Club...one time she stopped by with 2 six by six inch square vases that stood about 5 inches high so that I could make some pretty, but low to the table flower arrangements. It's never good when people are seated and can't see each other over the flowers! In addition, she brought me a picture of martini glasses filled with two different kinds of shrimp sauce; one kind on each side of the glass, meeting in the middle. Then over the rim, were six large shrimp set around the glass. It wasn't a difficult appetizer to make, but it had curb appeal, and was both clever and delicious.
