Personal Notes:
This was Meg's favorite quick salad recipe. She loved Grasch's Vidalia Onion and Peppercorn dressing. Now that Grasch is no longer, we'll have to find another vidalia onion brand! Every time I've made this salad for a crowd, I borrow Meg's long silver decorative bowl--it's at least 2 1/2 feet long by 8 inches wide. She never could remember where she bought that bowl. Once when I needed a really large salad bowl, she was looking around her house and spotted that silver bowl/platter in her family room and thought it'd be perfect for a big salad. I don't think I've ever received more compliments about a salad in a bowl as when I use her supper club recipe and borrow Meg's silver bowl.
