3-4 lb. young chicken

Sauce:
1/4 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
3-4 pods of cayenne pepper
3 big spoonfuls of butter
salt
pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Today: Cook chicken on charcoal grill. Cut into pieces and soak in sauce.

On the Liles Farm: Dig a hole foot deep and put chicken wire over hole. Get coal out of tobacco barn and cook at least 1 hour. Split open chicken and cook side down first and turn & cook skin side up for another hour or until crispy brown.

Cut chicken into pieces and let soak in sauce. Served with hot biscuits or cornbread.

Dock remembers his momma saying " if you have company coming, add more cayenne pepper to make sure you have enough chicken to go around".
