2. c. all purpose flour 1/2 c. butter (Room temperature)
3/4 t. baking powder 1 1/4 c. packed dark brown sugar
3/4 t. baking soda 1 large egg
3/4 t. cinnamon 1/3 c. fancy molasses
1/2 t. ground ginger 1 c. coarsely chopped dried pears
1/2 t. ground nutmeg 1/2 c.coarsely chopped pecans
1/8 t. ground cloves 2 T. finely chopped crystallized ginger
1/4 t. salt

Preheat oven to 375º F.
Combine flour, baking powder, baking soda. cinnamon, ground cloves, ginger, nutmeg and salt.
In large bowl beat butter at medium speed until very smooth. Add brown sugar and beat until light about 3 minutes)
Beat in egg, then molasses until smooth.
Lower speed to slow and beat in flour until just blended. Stir in pecans, pears and crystalized ginger.
Line baking sheets with parchment paper and drop dough by heaping tablespoons onto baking sheet.
Bake for about 12 minutes or until edges of cookies are light golden but centers are still soft (do not overbak
