3/4 c shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
3 egg yolks + 1 tbsp
2 cups flour
1/4 tsp soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1 12-oz pkg chocolate chips
3 egg whites
1 1/2 cup brown sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Cream together shortening, sugar and brown sugar. Add egg yolks and water. Stir in flour, soda, salt, baking powder. Add vanilla.

Spread the cookie dough mixture onto a jelly roll pan. Spread chocolate chips on top of dough.

Whip egg whites until peaks form. Slowly add brown sugar, mixing well after each addition. Spread meringue on top of chocolate chips.

Bake at 325º for approx. 25 minutes or until done
