Soup:
2 lbs. potatoes, peeled
2 c. milk
butter, salt and pepper to taste

Pancakes:
2 lbs. potatoes
3 T. flour
1 egg, beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
vegetable oil

Directions:
Directions:
SOUP: Cook potatoes until tender. Drain off 1/2 of the water and mash potatoes till chunky. Add salt to taste and add milk to make a soup like consistency. Add butter and pepper to taste. PANCAKES: Grate on grater and drain liquid off of potatoes. Add flour, egg, salt and mix thoroughly. Heat 3 T. oil in an iron skillet and drop potato mixture 2 heaping T. at a time. Fry until crisp and golden. Turn and brown on other side. Serve with soup above and applesauce. Can add grated onions to batter before fying, if desired.

Grandma Doll would make this and her Potato Pancakes on Friday's during Lent. She always put the pancakes in a bowl and poured the soup over them.
