Crust:
1 1/2 cups flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup melted shortening
1 teaspoon oil
1/4 cup water

Filling:
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup Karo syrup
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/3 cup melted butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
3 eggs
1 cup pecan halves

Crust:
Mix flour and salt while shortening is melting. Mix in shortening, oil and water. Do this quickly. If it sits too long, it won't spread out correctly. Spread in pie pan and crimp edges. Set aside.

Filling:
Mix brown sugar, Karo syrup, melted butter, vanilla and eggs. Add pecans. Pour in pie crust. Bake @ 350 degrees F for 45-50 minutes.
