1 lb lean ground beef
1 package taco seasoning
¼ cup water
1 15 oz can chili beans
1 can biscuits (8 Biscuits)
Oil for frying

Topping options:
sour cream
tomatoes
shredded lettuce
shredded cheddar cheese
salsa/picante

Directions:
1. Flatten each biscuit. Fry each biscuit in ¼-in. hot oil over medium heat until golden brown, turning once. Drain biscuits on paper towels, keep warm.
2. In a medium skillet, brown ground beef until no longer pink and drain. Add ¼ cup water and taco seasoning mix. Bring to a boil and reduce heat to low and allow to simmer.
3. Once ready to assemble, lay fried biscuit on a plate and put ½ cup of meat and beans on top. Top with your favorite toppings.

* The key to the bread is to roll the biscuits out really, really flat and thin - almost like the biscuits are about to tear or get holes in them. Don't worry, they'll puff back up when you fry them!
* Get the big biscuits - I use Pillsbury Grands Butter Flavor. (not sure the flaky layers biscuits would be a great choice for these)
* If you can't find chili beans, ranch style beans will work. Also, if you have cooked/leftover pinto beans handy, those would be good for this recipe!
* This is a great dinner to make if you have vegetarians eating dinner - just make sure you get beans that are vegetarian friendly! (Also, make sure you use vegetable oil for frying)
