Ingredients: 2 whole Granny Smith apples 2 (8 oz) cans crescent rolls 2 sticks butter 1 and ˝ cups sugar 1 tsp vanilla 1 can (12 oz) Mountain Dew soda Cinnamon to sprinkle on top

Directions:1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. 2. Peel and core apples, cut each apple into 8 slices. 3. Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll 4. Place wrapped apple slices in a 9x13 pan (butter the bottom of pan) 5. On the stove, melt butter, then add sugar and barely stir. Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir. 6. Pour entire mixture over apples. 7. Pour Mountain Dew around the edges of the pan and then sprinkle cinnamon over the top of the dumplings 8. Bake for about 40 minutes, remove from oven and serve warm. |

Notes: • Don’t try to make this without peeling the apples. (trust me on this) • You can use any kind of apple you like, but the tart apples are really good in it. • You can use 7-up or sprite if you don’t have mountain dew on hand. If you’re using it from a bottle use 1.5 cups of soda for this recipe. • It will seem like a lot of fluid, but once it bakes you’ll see it’s just the right amount! • If you’re an ice cream fan, these are great served warm with vanilla ice cream.
